Historic Fundraising Event: Saturday, March 16, 2019

On Saturday, March 16th, 2019, Nile Orphan Care hold a “Love and Care” fundraising event in Louisville, Kentucky-USA under the theme Construction of Orphanage Home in South Sudan. The event brought many people within and across the country including Congressman John Yarmuth of Kentucky, Ambassador to South Sudan to Washington, DC Philip Jada, SPLM Women League in USA Mary Adol Machar Ijong, and international guest speakers, including Bishop Elijah Abuoi Arok from Africa and Hoc-Thon Laat Maker from Australia.

The messages of love and care were shared through songs and speeches and, children played drama/ poem, thanking American people for standing with South Sudanese immigrants not only in humanitarian aid projects but in so many aspects. They designed fliers containing messages that urge people of South Sudan to stop senseless war and give children a chance to go to school, asking South Sudanese Diasporas to stand with those affected by the conflict in their homeland, especially orphans and vulnerable.  Ambassador Philip Jada, stressed the commitment of South Sudan to bring peace to the people, his commitment to work hand-in-hand with all South Sudanese in the United States, applauded the noble work of Nile Orphan Care in supporting orphans and vulnerable children in war-torn South Sudan, and his love to do whatever he can to support this organization. With love and generosity of those who attended the event, over $ 5000 was raised and $ 2000 in pledges.
