School runs from 7:30am-6pm Children are served only one meal a day because of food shortage

Every Tuesday – Peace Education (Shed Light on South Sudan)
Upper classes (4th grade to high school) have peace education in their curriculum/syllabus. Also, , children are selected from different classes for semi-workshop on peace, unity and reconciliation. The organization sometime invite guest speakers to conduct this workshop. The goal is to promote peace within or South Sudan.
Thursday 3:30-5pm – Debate Club
Debate is conducted every Thursday and it can be either among Nile Orphan Care children ( 4th grade- High School) or Nile Orphan Care and other schools.
Every Friday 2:00pm-3:30 in the Fellowship Hall
Guest speakers are invited to lead devotion and prayer.
Children will sing gospel songs and perform dancing.
This group meet twice a week to learn new songs or do some other practice.
Every Saturday either in the morning or late afternoon – Sports
Football and Volleyball
Name of the team: Inter-Ethnic Star
Inter-Ethnic Star may play against each other (teachers vs pupils or class vs class). Some other times they play against other schools.
Scouting
Nile Orphan Care Scout is number one in all schools in Juba if not South Sudan at large.
Occasionally – Drama/Poem Club
This activity is done occasionally either when organization is having event or any other organize function. This group meet once a week to compose, rehearse, etc.
Traditional Dance
Nile Orphan Care orphanage is ethnically diverse. The children represent 64 tribes and this is the reason why school is called Inter-Ethnic Academy. So in this Club, they learn songs and dance across their cultural background.
During breaks
Other activities which are play during breaks or after school include but not limited to: Hope, skip and jump, Tag, marble, tug of war, paper airplanes, catch, blindfolded, Tic-tac-toe, hand- clap game, etc.
